Enchanting place with rich traditional custom, heritage and history. Ilocos Sur, with its capital of Vigan City, oftenly called as “The Heart of The Ilocandia Region” has transformed itself to a progressive province in terms of advancement in both economy and development but still preserving its rich culture, tradition and heritage. This is an impressive effort by both its local government and citizens working hand in hand towards attaining development and progress through joint efforts for the benefit of everyone. Its vision and mission has set extra ordinary standards benefiting the province and the country as a whole.

Ilocos Sur Provincial Capitol

Preservation of its historic houses and buildings is one of the awesome work of the province. 17th and 18th century old structures still stand today making it an ideal place for both tourism and remembering its place in the country’s history. The Padre Burgos House stands as the preservation place for artifacts, memorabilia and arts of its first settlers and ancestry while the Crisologo Museum handles all the typical collection of furnishings that includes the greatly preserved structure of a pre-spanish era edifice. The Magsingal Museum meanwhile is where the repository of its art craftsmanship with a new addition of The San Pablo Museum that is committed to preserve its cultural heritage.

Ilocos Sur

Modernization is also the aim of its local citizen and government while preserving its rich culture, tradition and history. It is also a very exciting place to be where peace, serenity and relaxation is within its realms. Vast kilometers of shoreline from Sinait to Tagudin, everyone would really enjoy the refreshing glimpse of its pristine beaches. Outdoor recreation from snorkeling to fishing, and even dolphin watching, there is just a good number of things to see and the whole family will surely enjoy. Shopping is at its convenience with stores accessible daily with some at 24 hours for convenience. Gift items, pasalubongs, antiques, novelties, public markets, malls and many more are available. Dining is almost everywhere, from traditional to native and international cuisine. You name it they have it. But for sure when in Ilocos Sur try their native food and delicacies as Ilocanos have traditionally been enjoying delicacies, whose recipes have been developed out of anything edible and potable within the surroundings, that eventually gave birth to the famous pinakbet, sinanglao, and other delicious food in the Ilocano table. But that’s not all, exotic food also range from stir-fried abal-abal (June beetle), ararawan and many more that would fit anyone who dares to conquer an instant fear factor challenge.

Ilocos Sur Beach

Every home in Ilocos Sur is more than just a warm to cling on including accommodations. From traditional antique setups, beach ambiance, to modern interiors, there is just a wide range of hotels and inns to choose from. Resorts are abundant from native ambiance to the most modernize set up primarily intended for everyones enjoyment and relaxation. While every province has their own festivals in the Philippines, Ilocos Sur is blooming with festivals that celebrate more than just life. Traditions, customs, delicacies, harvests from the bounty - these are just a few elements that could be found in their festivities. So come and groove with the rhythms as they dance along the streets and end up feasting all-day and all-night. Like its been said in Ilocos Sur, the experience you want, the fun you expect and the value you deserve.

I just can’t believe that Filipinos like you still exists. While we blog and advertise the Philippines for FREE to get across a message and to show how beautiful our country is to the outside world, you cry like a baby. Ahh well just another of those leeches in our corrupt society. Maybe its good for you if we discuss this in my forum and I will be waiting for you. http://www.paraisophilippines.com/forum/showthread.php?p=12258#post12258.

good day mr.admin. I appreciate it that you promote our country as a tourist destination. I myself is backpacker and blogs like this is a very great help. Going out of town is not a hassle anymore because i can get information in blogs like this one. you’re site is very informative.

I also take photographs while traveling and i want my pictures to be published. However, i want a permission from me to publish my photograph, two things, because i want to know where my photo is posted and also to recognize me.
I do understand you’re point as well as mr.sheker’s. You guys should talk about this in a civil manner.

Damn… another photo stealer… what a loser.. you guys cant understand the simple word what you call copyright…what a pathetic move….

a simple email asking permission from the owner of the photo is enough.. since your intentions are good…but through this way…its just too bad…

By the way… have you encountered the word…Intellectual property rights?? if not.. try to read through it before putting up a website like this one..

Wow! I really wanted to visit Vigan but I was so busy with my work before.

Anyway, I am not a professional photographer but I do put watermarks on my pictures. Just my two cents. :)

I’m not a professional photographer too but I make sure I put watermarks on my photos whenever I post them on my blogs. Especially nowadays, we all know how easy we can get something from the internet. and we cannot track every person who grab or use our work. So why not put a watermark since it can’t be easily erased by any image editing software. Somehow, we will be credited on our works. Just sharing my point of view.

If your a Pinoy sana walang maka encounter na foreigner sa yo. KAWAWA SILA !!! Ngek !!!

Masyado ka marunong and read the Copyright Law first saka alamin mo muna kung taga saan ako din. I might be from China or Eastern Europe. Maybe I am doing you a favor.

Salamat Pinay Mommy at Miss Aerin. At least a NON Professional Photo Blogger like you understands what needs protected. I just cant imagine bakit ang mga PROFESSIONALS ay di gumagawa ng ganyan. Siguro feel ko lang na may hidden agenda sometimes to bait just for the sake of what can be gained. Yun bang pwedeng Milking Center. Siguro lang ha ? Not sure kaya nga HIDDEN AGENDA. Anyway continue supporting the Philippines and show the beauty of it. May LINK man o WALA its our country, Juan De LA Cruz deserves the best, may it be Photos or Places.

At dun naman sa iba na nag comment pasensya na po at di pwede talaga ipublish yung mga comments nyo. First walang site reference or e-mails na tunay. Meaning your hiding something or just dont have the guts.

Pero good luck na lang in finding it. May nag pa blog ata sa mga Pay Per Blog. It was almost 200 as I have seen.
