The Nature Front of Mindanao – Misamis Oriental

Anybody who loves nature will surely love the beauty of Misamis Oriental. The province that used to be a district of Cebu and referred to as “Partido de Misamis” then and until it became one of the district of Mindanao by the 19th century.

Planning a visit to Misamis Oriental ? A sure to have fun with its numerous possibilities that range from gorgeous beaches to watersports, from cave explorations to the settlements of ethnic groups with the wide range of things that a true blue nature lover will take perhaps more than a couple months to fully enjoy all that to offer. Reaching Misamis Oriental, you can start off by visiting the Vega Ancestral Home as well as the Lagbas Ancestral Home. It might be best to start with the smaller less energy draining feats before diving into the more strenuous ones. Then you would rather go straight into the natural pool of sights and sounds, and might want to visit the Agutayan Reef. The said reef is often referred to as the Jasaan. It is a small island that has an impressive spread of coral reef. On the side of the island is a 50ft drop off which can extend to 150 ft.  Along the wall, the diver will surely see a variety of fish such as barracudas, tuna, surgeon fish, and if the diver is lucky, he or she might see a shark or two. (Just be careful)
Another reef to check out is the Constancia Reef. It is actually a shoal which covers around 3 hectares. Its shallowest depth is only at 20 ft, but the whole reef is a treat for divers since he or she is treated with sea fans, sponges, tropical fishes, and the whole lot. Other places to visit include Talisayan Shoal, Sipaka Point, Punta Diwata, and Manongul. If you decide to take a break from all that blue water, then you can try visiting caves for another type of adventure. The caves in Misamis Oriental have captured the hearts of spelunkers, tourists, and anthropologists.

Misamis Oriental is not to miss any of its festivals. Like most provinces in the Philippines, Misamis Oriental celebrates its own festive days such as the Kagay-an Festival for Cagayan de Oro during August 26, Kaliga Festival for Gingoog City in July 23, and the ever popular Hudayaka Festival.

One of the important thing to know about when visiting the capital is the different health facilities. For the local population some do have knowledge of nearby hospitals but most don’t. Knowing the places and having a quick access to what and where are the important factors. A good health is always favorable but there are certain times when someone needs to be taken to the hospital for unavoidable conditions. Its always a great idea to be prepared and have the nearby places of health facilities, meaning a handy list for emergency purposes for both the local population and travelers alike. Paraiso Philippines gathered this information for reference purposes.

The National Capital Region popularly known as Metro Manila or Metropolitan Manila or Kalakhang Maynila in the local language is the heart and soul of the Philippines. Situated in the Island of Luzon and located close the southern tip bounded by Manila Bay that goes outward towards the China Sea. Metro Manila used to be called Manila until the 1980’s when the government adapted the name. Being the capital of the Philippines and one of the most modern cities in Asia, it is the home and seat of the government, the financial center, the cultural center and the most populous area of the country.

The National Capital Region is divided into four districts, the first district being the Capital District which is the City of Manila, second district or the Eastern Manila District composed of Mandaluyong City, Marikina City, Pasig City, Quezon City, and the City of San Juan, while the CAMANAVA District which is composed of Caloocan City, Malabon City, Navotas City and Valenzuela City are located just at the norther eastern part of the metropolis. The last district which is the Southern Manila District composed of Las Pinas City, Makati City, Paranaque City, Pateros and Taguig City.
